Web 2.0, Ruby on Rails and PUM
Sometimes I feel a little bit old fashioned when publishing a new post on something that’s been buzzing the web for some moths now.
In our project PUM, we were trying to create a company (or at least develop an idea) to join the web 2.0 phenomenon. But what the heck is web 2.0? Well, some will try to use a very complex definition, give many useful types of services and name many different and strange acronyms. But the idea is basic: to differentiate the current web trends from those in the web crash in 2000.
And it is true, nowadays web companies are much more analized from the financial point of view, in order to avoid a second dot com bubble. But still internet has proven to be a place where people can get rich in a couple of months and plenty of opportunities are to be discovered.
And then you have Ruby on Rails, a programing technique that makes it easy to bring ideas to the real world. Many examples have recently showed this fact: Odeo, StreetEasy, Bibli.ca and Newzingo among many others.

Hi Guy!
PUM stands for Post-University Meetings, and are simple friends meetings were we have dinner, drink a few glasses of wine and discuss about the viability of internet projects.
We are newbies in the world of web companies entrepreneurship, but we are quite excited (or at least I am) about what it might come out of it. In fact we came up with a similar idea to Bibli.ca and I found out about your project while looking if anyone had already done it.
